Every time i run this game my iPhone freezes (if i am running music from the iOS MUSIC app , just i can hear the sound of the game is running + my music. The device restarts by it self finally , this is the 1st day playing this game and my iPhone freezes and restarted 6 times just today!! Bad coding Microsoft!! Another thing , the game keep disconnecting every day hundred of times!! What a rubbish server , really bad server! iPhone 6 plus

forget all the negative comments. this game is overall great. I would compare it to clash of clans. Only negative part I have it 500 coins to change location , is a lot. there should be 1 free one and the rest a fee. Other than that me and my Dad play this game and we love it.

Cant sign in, even with the new iOS update. Also, the game is boring. Nothing like the real AOE. Its just a repackaged freemium game like every other game out there. Super lame excuse for a game.

Well the graphics are great and nothing wrong with the game in regards to bugs and freezing. I read most of the reviews and it looks like there are 2 sides saying that this game copied clash of clans and vise versa. Well for those not old enough the real age of empires for the PC and for stream is so much better. Real time battles from teams to vs all. Tower defense got its name from this original game. Ok back to the subject. This game is exactly like clash of clans which shot all my hopes of playing the original game of age of empires. I guess I will go back to playing the original game on my computer. For Microsoft - please make the real age of empires fit for an phone app. It should attract original players and new players in a real time battle

Yet another update that breaks the game for iOS users, please fix, this is getting old

After playing this game for MONTHS AND MONTHS AND MONTHS. There is a re-occurring theme- SO STINGY WITH RESOURCES!!!!! The ratio of resources required to build things and resources AVAILABLE is stupid unbalanced. Currently i have spent the last 5 weeks just gathering freaking resources to try and build one measly thing after another....dude seriously... and thats hoping that no want to attack me and take my resources and i have to start all over

Yet another CS update that bricks the game for iPhone users. I know the iPhone is an unusual and rare piece of hardware, but come on! Do you guys even sandbox these updates?!

Loving the PC version of this from my childhood, I HAD to have it. Unfortunately, I was quickly reminded why I dont own anything Microsoft anymore. Failed to load after getting through a second download screen, restarted, couldnt connect to Game Center, restarted, failed to locate server, DELETED.

I am really surprised at the ratings level for this game, I grew up loving AOE and this is not that game! You cant control your own troops so they go wherever they like. The game is clunky and on iOS there have been many times where the game straight out didnt work for long periods of time. When you get a few ages in it slows to a crawl and it becomes boring.

I am so done with this garbage game. In the later ages its nothing but wait a week until you can upgrade one thing (because of how stupidly expensive things are), and oh, since you have a ton of a certain kind of resource because, you know, youre SAVING UP FOR A FREAKING UPGRADE, the game flags you to be attacked, often by people in a higher age than you, and you lose a good amount of the resources youre trying to save. So you can only net a small amount if anything per day unless you dont get attacked by some miracle. The whole reason obviously is the devs want you to break down and make in app purchases. Well sorry not gonna happen, Smoking Gun, you guys can shove your IAPs up your butthole. The ONLY reason I even touched your POS game in the first place is because it gives Xbox achievements. But there are a couple achievements that just arent worth this hassle.

Back in the late 1990s & early 2000s, I used to play Age of Empires & Age of Mythology. This is just a poor comparison of the good old games. Yes, they were expensive to buy back then, but once you bought the AoM, you did not have to spend any money. Those games were fun to play with. They kept me entertained for hours - heck, even days. With this game, even though is "FREE", you have to spend good $$$ in order to advance.

Love this game, but servers often dont work. Game Center not properly supported. Very frustrating.

Loved it at first. But a few days ago it stopped working. Gets stuck on the loading screen. Tried reinstalling but it still wont load. Tried emailing customer support. Never got a reply.

Im new. Started yesterday actually. The most obvious and annoying thing so far is the inability to spin the screen, making placements of defenses hard to see and therefore do. The entire core of the games is about building a fortress and robbing other folks blind by attacking and looting them. Thats the fastest way to build resources. As other players have indicated, youre always subject to being attacked and looted, so its important to not keep much on hand (upgrade or get plundered). All the strategy app games are meant to be played periodically over time. If you get plundered, go and plunder someone else! I use the strategy of being fully upgraded BEFORE moving on to the next age. Its working so far.

I grew up with Age of Empires on my old DS. Let me tell you, this is not the Age of Empires that we all know and love. This is another clash of clans rip off. Total Garbage. Would rate 0 stars if it was an option.

Military Intelligence; Country Music; Microsoft Works. Proven here. I had hoped this would be like the old Age of Empires. Its not. Previous reviewers have hit the two main flaws. (1) huge wait times to build anything. (2) server unreliability. Its so bad that this game is like an advertisement for Amazon hosting. In fact the game has been unplayable a for weeks now. To illustrate. After upgrading to a new age, I can up grade my 4 farms. It costs 900,000 wood to upgrade on farm. My 4 saw mills each produce 1000 wood an hour. Thus it take 9 days of waiting to start an upgrade and 3 more days of waiting to upgrade. This is a complete waste of time. Maybe they will get the old AOE running on IOS.

Good game overall, like the history and unit upgrades but units should change looks every level not every 3 levels. Only reason not 5 stars is gold purchases do not work. The sword icon just spins! Overall great game please fix bug in gold purchasing and lower speed up costs!
